If You Purchase a Game Again Can You Continue Your Progress From Before

If you are talking about the Steam cloud feature, I am not sure. But you can make a manual back up of the save of course. The files will still be on your computer even when they remove the game from your account. You just will not be able to play the game anymore, of course.

Make a manual backup of the game. That is my suggestion. You need to be sure you qualify for the refund, by the way. If you are "that far" in the game, your playtime may be too high.

Yes I am now aware of the time limit... wasn't before. It is Dark Souls 3 and I'm only 8 hours in. Compare that to 100+ on Dark souls 2 and 50+ on Dark Souls 1 I'm hoping they'll still accept it..

If you are over 2 hours of playtime, it is almost a certainty that they will refuse your refund request. I would not waste my time , but you are free to do as you wish.

Please, if they say no, please just accept that as no. If you are over the limit, then you don't qualify for a refund. You can finish some games in 8 hours.

Well that sure is crappy

There used to be a No Refund policy and refunds were almost unheard of. So this policy is not crappy as it is actually good. If they did refunds for 8 hours of time, then tomorrow here comes those wanting 9 hours, then 10 then...well, you hopefully get the point.

2 hours is plenty of time to see if you like a game or not. You said you "need" a refund instead of "wanting" a refund, so that seems to suggest that you just want the money to buy something else. I could be wrong but why not just keep the game on your account ?

I played 8 hours trying to figure out if the game was even worth the money, because I was getting framerate drops from 45 to about 5 frames. As I stated above I have over 150+ hours combined on other souls games so 8 hour is almost nothing. The reason I played 8 hours was to see if maybe I could just play it with the framerate drops but that will not be possible. I think 2 hours to decide if a game is worth keeping is enough for most games, however big games like this require more time to figure it out because there is just so many different areas and so many different gameplay mechanics. What might work in one area may completely fry your computer in the next, just because of all the different mechanics. I couldn't possibly decide whether the game would work or not because it takes me 2 hours to even get to the next area, which might work fine but I wouldn't know unless I passed the 2 hour mark to get there.

My friend, it does not matter how many hours you have on other games. I have no idea how you find that even relevant here. The playtime requirement is 2 hours for the game you are requesting a refund for. That is all that matters, along with the 2 weeks of ownership also of course. If you have frame drops on your computer, then either your system does not meet the minimum specs for the game, or you have another issue on your computer that is fixable by you.

In any case, you had 2 hours to decide if the game would work well on your system. My suggestion now would be to post in the game forum for help on getting the game to run well on your system, that is if you meet the minimum specs for the game.

I'm only hoping that steam will recognize that some games may take over 2 hours to decide on, they seem like a very nice service and I've never had a problem dealing with steam, hence why I didn't even know there was a 2 hour gameplay restriction on refunds. Maybe I'll get lucky because my specs are well above minimum requirement and still the game is basically unplayable. All drivers updated, and I even run programs to boost my RAM while gaming. I only brought up my other game times to put in perspective my gametime on this game. Thank you for your help

By the way I bought the deluxe edition so even if they refuse my refund can I atleast get a refund on the season pass? Because the DLC hasn't even come out yet.

Did you buy all of that at the same time ? Again, read that page that was linked. If you had a bundled purchase, then that is covered there. Same with DLC. Read the page I gave you, please.

And I can only kindly ask you again here, that if they say no, please accept that as no. I already suspect that you have issues on your computer that may be causing your poor performance in this game. If you meet the minimum requirements for the game, then you don't need that junk to "boost" your RAM while gaming. If you make a thread in the games forum, I will try to help you if you wish. My profile is open for comments. Just leave the link to your thread in my comments and remind me with a message and I will come to your thread if you wish. That is my offer to you.

I'm just confused, I read the page you linked but I don't understand. It says it will refund the bundle but it doesn't specify if they can refund part of the bundle

Then that should fit under a "bundled purchase".

Refunds on Bundles

You can receive a full refund for any bundle purchased on the Steam Store, so long as none of the items in the bundle have been transferred, and if the combined usage time for all items in the bundle is less than two hours. If a bundle includes an in-game item or DLC that is not refundable, Steam will tell you if the whole bundle is refundable during check-out.

So since you have 8 hours of playtime for the base game, same thing applies.

Yes but I'm wondering if I can just get a refund of the DLC. I realize I have more than 2 hours played on the base game, but this says "You can recieve a full refund for any bundle". If I just want the DLC refunded, why would the base game affect that?

Basically if I get refused on my refund, then I'll want to atleast refund the DLC I haven't played yet.. I don't understand why the 2 hours would affect something that hasn't even come out. Maybe I just don't want the DLC anymore but will keep the game, ya know?
